Casino in Rockford
Print Campaign
Leading up to the Illinois Senate voting for new gaming legislation in June 2019, our client approached us, earlier that year, to create a print campaign to run in Springfield's newspapers to promote the City of Rockford as the holder of a license for a casino. On June 5, 2019, the Illinois Senate passed new gaming legislation, and the new bill provided for a single license for a casino within the City of Rockford.
The campaign consisted on a series of full-page newspaper ads featuring fictitious text messages to Illinois' governor pleading for a casino license for the City of Rockford. The campaign feature the hashtag #WhyNotRockford to facilitate sharing on social media by supporters.
My role as a designer ranged from developing the campaign logo, creating text messages graphics, to communicating with newspaper vendors. Our team was comprised of a creative director, account manager and designer.
